Name: K’ban
Age: 17
Appearance: A beanpole still, K’ban has yet to fill out from his growth spurt. Tall and underweight-looking, he has an almost pompadour of chestnut brown hair that likes to put little flyaways in his face. He has lighter brown eyes and a smile that could light up the night. Overall, K’ban gives off the air of someone friendly whom you can trust. A light dusting of stubble lines his jaw but he tries to keep it shaved since he doesn’t like the way it feels in *between*.
Personality: Eager to listen to authority, K’ban often forgets that, with his bronze dragon, he *is* authority. That said, he’s highly inclined to listen to others’ opinions when decisions need to be made and uses that counsel to decide on a course of action. This generally finds him in favor with the lesser colors under him and nominated often to be a leader. K’ban would never think of himself as a leader perse, but he also won’t turn down the role since he knows that he can do it. Sometimes he can be a bit stubborn in this regard since he won’t back down from a situation that he knows either himself or Vukoth can accomplish. Vukoth thankfully is sensible enough to help calm the boy down and help him to be reasonable. K’ban adores Wuianze and has since the moment that he met her in a flight.
History: Born 5.22 at Igen Weyr, Kaban had always admired the life of a dragonrider and dreamed of becoming one. Color didn’t matter to him and he was just as likely to pretend to be a greenrider as he was a bronzerider when he and the other Weyrbrats played in the creche. The very day that he turned twelve, he went to Igen’s Candidatemaster and asked to be allowed to stand. Kaban aced his testing with eager and flying colors but before he even had a chance to take a single class, the eggs that were on the sands hatched. He was stunned that he was even allowed to Stand, but even moreso when he was chosen by a suave and sultry bronze. He didn’t care that the bronze was small and slim, what mattered was that this was his Vukoth and he was K’ban.
Weyrlinghood wasn’t as difficult as it could have been- at least K’ban understood Weyrlife and what was expected of him. His real difficulty was being a very young bronzerider and fitting in with the other Weyrlings who mostly had their own cliques from candidacy. K’ban mostly stuck with the Holdborn Weyrlings and made his own Outsider group therein. When Vukoth reached of age, he flew for the first queen to rise who also happened to be Wuianze’s Zhuqiaoth. The boy developed a childish infatuation with the goldrider even though his bronze didn’t win the flight. When Wuianze was transferred to Shadow Weyr, K’ban followed her from Igen since he was finally old enough to not be considered either a Weyrling or under constant watch.
Position in the Weyr: Wingrider
Dragon Name: Vukoth
Color: Bronze
Age: 5
Appearance: A dashing and suave bronze, overall Vukoth is a lovely dark tan bronze that gets darker on his entire neck, his elbows, and the very tip of his tail. There, the bronze is so dark as to almost seem brown save for the metallic sheen. The fingers on each paw are paler as is his muzzle, but otherwise he is that shade of lovely tan-bronze all over. He has a curve of that darker bronze on his forehead between his headknobs which makes it look like there is a curl of hair or fur, but of course there isn’t.
Vukoth overall isn’t that large, coming off more long and lanky than big and muscular. This seems like something a bronze might be ashamed of, but it makes his speed fantastic for as long as it lasts. He’s had to learn how to hold himself back when necessary so as to not waste his precious small stamina, but even still Vukoth cannot fly a full fall.
Personality: Vukoth is a mystery- is he your friend, your partner, your weyrmate, your enemy? Only he knows. As far as anyone else is concerned, what Vukoth is depends on what he allows them to perceive of him. His rider is the only one he is one hundred percent honest to and he regularly divulges any negative feelings or fears to the boy. K’ban is the most precious thing to him since he teaches Vukoth about the importance of life and everything in it.
Abilities/Weaknesses: Fast as a bronze can be, he has nearly no stamina. He’s manipulative but also anxious about his own future.
